All-Party Parliamentary Group for Golf becomes signatory to The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Golf has become a signatory to The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter.

The Charter was launched by The R&A earlier in the summer, and is aimed at inspiring a commitment to a more inclusive culture in golf from the entire industry, increasing the number of women and girls participating in golf, and encouraging more opportunities for women to work within the sport.

In signing the Charter, the Group has pledged to strongly advocate more women and girls playing and working in golf, by working with key stakeholders to develop and embed a more inclusive culture, promoting the Women in Golf Charter whenever opportunities arise in Parliament and seeking to advocate its objectives through representations to Ministers.

All-Party Parliamentary Group for Golf Co-Chair and Member of Parliament for North East Fife, Stephen Gethins MP, said “The Group is delighted to underline our commitment to women and girls’ golf by becoming a signatory to The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, and I look forward to working with colleagues to support the Charter’s objectives.”

Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire and Group Co-Chair, Craig Tracey MP, added “The R&A’s commitment to encourage more women into golf is very welcome, and I hope that the entire golf industry will unite around the Charter, to encourage more opportunities for women and girls to participate and work in golf.”
